Your privacy is important to us. It is Snap In’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, https://www.snapin.com.au, and other sites we may own and operate.

We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with the required service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

We don’t share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

This Privacy Policy is directed at business owners which are registered as users of snapin.com.au (“registered business”), and visitors to a registered business who provide certain personal information as a condition of entry to the business premises (“visitors”).

Registered businesses should also ensure that they have their own privacy policies in place, and that those policies are consistent with this Privacy Policy in relation to the handling of visitors’ information.

 

1. Types of Data collected.

Personal information collected by snapin.com.au may relate to a business or a visitor.

Business – snapin.com.au collects, at the time of registration and sign-on to our web site, certain registration information which may comprise “personal information” (information that personally identifies an individual associated with the business).  This may include, for example, an individual’s name, email address, home or work address, telephone number, and information about your computer hardware and software (e.g., IP address, operating system, browser type, domain name, URL, access times, and referring web site addresses). snapin.com.au has implemented this Privacy Policy to protect personal information received from registered businesses so that snapin.com.au can provide its services to that business. snapin.com.au will not provide this personal information to third parties for any purpose other than those employees, agents or contractors engaged to support and or maintain snapin.com.au’s core systems and services.

Visitor – snapin.com.au collects personal information which you volunteer for the purposes of a condition of entry to the premises of a registered business.  You will be required to provide your name, email address and phone number, and to answer a series of questions.  You understand that the information which you provide will be used for the broader purpose of creating a permanent record of which individuals have attended the premises.  The information may be disclosed to authorities if there is a legal obligation to do so.  You are not required to answer any questions but if you do not, the registered business may refuse you access to its premises.”

snapin.com.au limits its collection of personal information to only that information which is necessary for delivering snapin.com.au’s core functions as described above.

When you visit the snapin.com.au web site, a cookie may be placed on your computer or the cookie may be read if you have visited the snapin.com.au site previously. snapin.com.au uses cookies to allow us to determine which products and services you may be interested in so that snapin.com.au does not provide redundant information to you. 3. Data storage

In accordance with the Australian Privacy act and the Australian Privacy Principles, snapin.com.au stores information submitted strictly on Australian based secure web servers.

Business – snapin.com.au securely stores the information entered at registration. This allows the provision of a QR display sign that the business can print and display at their premises.

Visitor – Visitors who scan registered businesses QR display sign’s with their device are redirected to a webpage where they are asked to answer questions and provide their contact information.
When a visitor submits this information, it is securely stored by snapin.com.au. By using snapin.com.au as a visitor, you consent to your information being sent to/stored by snapin.com.au on behalf of authorised representatives of the business who created the business QR display sign that you scan, for the purpose of generating your digital pass and maintaining records. You consent to snapin.com.au and the relevant registered business using your information for these purposes.

snapin.com.au takes such steps as are reasonable to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. snapin.com.au has undertaken a documented Privacy Impact Assessment to confirm that it has adopted appropriate methods to protect customers’ personal information.

4. Accuracy of Personal Information

snapin.com.au will use reasonable efforts to keep customer personal information accurate for the Identified Purposes, up to date and complete. Customers are responsible for informing snapin.com.au about changes to their personal information. You can assist in this regard by sending an email to support@snapin.com.au. snapin.com.au will use new or updated personal information it receives from customers to update its own records.

5. Access to Personal Information

Whether you are a business or a visitor, snapin.com.au will afford you a reasonable opportunity to access and (if necessary) correct the personal information which we hold about you, if you so request by emailing privacy@snapin.com.au.  This is consistent with snapin.com.au’s obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. For the avoidance of doubt, this does not entitle you to access personal information relating to others.  If snapin.com.au is entitled by law to deny access to some aspect of your personal information, it will provide reasons for denying access and also provide you with particulars of mechanisms available to you if you wish to complain about our refusal.
If you request the correction of personal information which you consider to be inaccurate, we will take such steps as are necessary to rectify that information so that it is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant and not misleading.  If we consider there are lawful grounds for not rectifying information as requested, we will advise you accordingly and also inform you of mechanisms available to you to complain about our refusal.

A business which has a paid subscription can login to snapin.com.au and:

  • View the data that visitors have submitted to snapin.com for that business, but only to the extent permissible under applicable privacy legislation.  For the avoidance of doubt, personal information about a visitor may only be accessed by the business in connection with the original reason for collection.

 

6. Complaints

If you have a complaint or query about the manner in which we are handling your personal information, you may contact us at privacy@snapin.com.au, and we shall respond to you as soon as possible.  If you are not satisfied with the manner in which we handle a complaint, you should seek legal advice, or alternatively lodge a complaint directly with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).  We will cooperate with any inquiry instigated by the OAIC.
